      Questions and Answers

      This section provides answers to frequently asked questions.

      • General issues
      • Questions about services
      What is the best way to install the VITYAZ TV in your room?
      • Try not to place the TV near a window. The light from the window along with the light from the screen is too tiring for the eyes;
      • The location of the TV in front of the window is undesirable. Direct sunlight falling from the window onto the screen interferes with viewing;
      • It is most convenient to place the TV with a screen perpendicular to the plane of the window and in height - at eye level;
      • Install your TV away from batteries and damp places;
      • Do not cover the TV with napkins and try not to place interior items, household items, especially those containing liquid on it;
      • When using an electrical extension cord or a long antenna cord, try to carefully place them around the perimeter of the room;
      • Excessive length of antenna cable or other cord may reduce image quality;
      • Use only good quality plug and splitter;
      • Maintain an appropriate distance from the screen when watching TV.
      What can you do to make your TV last longer?
      • Do not leave the TV in standby mode for a long time;
      • To turn off, use the remote control or the button on the panel;
      • Use a high-quality antenna cord without kinks and kinks, placing it around the perimeter of the room along the baseboard;
      • Do not pull on the cord! Pull and insert all connections effortlessly while holding the plug base in your hand,
      • When dusting the TV, turn it off. It is recommended to do this with anti-static monitor wipes.
      How to set up DVB-T digital signal reception on your Vityaz TV
      TV receivers manufactured by JSC Vityaz use a modern element base that provides reception of digital broadcasting signals of both DVB-T, DVB-T2 (terrestrial) and DVB-C (cable) standards, MPEG2 and MPEG4. The TVs presented in the product catalog fully comply with the technical specifications and description set out in the instruction manual for the corresponding TV model.

      In the recommendations below, we will focus on setting up Vityaz TVs to receive a digital signal of the DVB-T standard.

      The DVB-T standard is optimized for the transmission of audio-video data and additional information (such as, for example, teletext, EPG, current time, time zone) of television programs generated at a television studio and broadcast from television towers over the air.

      To receive a DVB-T signal, you must have an antenna connected to the TV. It should be noted that the algorithm for receiving digital broadcasting is designed in such a way that the TV either reproduces a high-quality image at a sufficient level, or turns off the image when the received signal is weak. If the signal level is insufficient, the TV will not reproduce the picture in noise or in black and white, which was possible when receiving an analog signal.

      In the case of a close location of the TV to the TV tower (depending on the transmitter power and the height of the antenna - within 5 km), a room antenna designed to receive a signal of the corresponding frequency range is enough to receive the signal. In the Republic of Belarus, DVB-T digital signal broadcasting is carried out in the UHF band (470-862 MHz (21-69 channels)). For information on the operating range of the antenna, please refer to the instruction manual for the antenna. As a room antenna, it is possible to use the antenna manufactured by JSC Vityaz - ATNA-7.1.

      In case of a significant distance of the TV from the TV tower (depending on the transmitter power, antenna height, terrain - 10-70 km), it is necessary to connect an external antenna to the TV, installed outdoors, on a mast up to 10 meters high and directed towards the nearest TV tower, which broadcasts a digital signal of the DVB-T standard. The antenna must also be designed to receive a UHF signal (470-862 MHz (21-69 channels)). As an outdoor antenna, it is possible to use an antenna manufactured by JSC Vityaz - ATIAG-5.2.

      If the antenna has already been installed and used to receive an analog television signal, you must make sure that, according to the technical specifications given in the operating instructions for the antenna, it is possible to receive a UHF signal. If the antenna is not designed to receive a signal in this range, then it must be replaced.

      In addition, due to the long-term operation of the antenna in difficult weather conditions (rain, snow, frost, sun), it is necessary to assess the current state of the antenna and check the following: the presence and reliability of fastening of the antenna elements, the reliability of the connection of the antenna cable to the antenna, the absence of breaks and damage to the insulation of the antenna cable, the serviceability of the plug and the reliability of soldering the cable to the antenna plug connected to the TV. In the case of using an antenna with an amplifier, it is necessary to check its serviceability, make sure that there is a supply voltage on the amplifier, check the operability of the power supply unit included in the antenna amplifier kit.

      In addition to the above, the quality of signal reception is also affected by the presence of such obstacles that are present in the direction of the antenna to the TV tower, such as: a nearby forest, hill, power lines, large structures, in this case it is necessary to move the antenna or place it at the highest possible height.

      You can find out up-to-date information about the coverage of the territory of the Republic of Belarus with digital terrestrial broadcasting of the DVB-T standard, as well as the number of programs and frequencies of broadcasting a digital signal in a particular area, see a map of the location of TV towers with digital signal transmitters of the DVB-T standard - on the website Beltelecom RUE.

      Algorithm for setting up Vityaz TVs to receive a DVB-T signal:
      1. In the table presented on the site Beltelecom RUE in the section "Information about the frequencies and coverage radius of digital transmitters" find the nearest settlement from your location in which the transmitter of the digital signal is installed (column "Transmitting station").
        For example: "RTPS Vitebsk".

        To estimate the distance and select the nearest settlement, you can use card posted in the section "Map of coverage of the territory of the Republic of Belarus by television programs included in the first multiplex in the DVB-T standard" of the RUE "Beltelecom" website.

      2. Connect the antenna to the TV's antenna jack.

        In case of using an external antenna, direct it towards the nearest settlement where the digital signal transmitter is installed.

      3. According to the operating instructions for the TV, select the DVB-T mode, enter the "Digital manual tuning" ("Manual search") menu. In the menu bar "Scan numbers. channels”, select the TV channel number taken from the “TV channel number” column of the table.
        For example: for the installation point of the transmitter "Vitebsk" - "TV channel number": 43, "Frequency, MHz": 650.

      4. In the case of using an indoor antenna, moving it indoors and focusing on the values of the “Power” line or the signal level scale of the “Manual search” menu, fix it in a place with the highest signal level value.

        In case of using an external antenna, orient and fix it at the highest signal level.

      5. Start searching for TV programs.

        Note: Depending on the TV software, the names of the menu items may differ from those shown above.

        After the setup is completed, eight television programs should appear in the list of tuned programs (as of December 2016): Belarus 1, Belarus 2, ONT, MIR, Belarus 3, STV, NTV, RTR Belarus and one radio program: 1-NCBR. The names from the list correspond to the names of TV channels: Belarus 1, Belarus 2, ONT, Mir, Belarus 3, STV, NTV-Belarus, RTR-Belarus, radio program: First Channel of Belarusian Radio.

        The above programs are not encoded by any conditional access system, they are the so-called "open" programs (FTA), therefore, to view them, you do not need to use additional equipment in the form of a CAM module. Viewing these programs will be available immediately after setup.

      We hope that the above recommendations will help you set up your TV receiver to receive a DVB-T digital signal.
